The seminar titled "Rebuilding Life After Marital Divorce" was carefully designed as an educational, therapeutic, and pastoral intervention. Its objective was not to endorse, encourage, normalize, or promote divorce as a desirable outcome in marriage. Faith Institute for Pastoral Counselling and Family Affairs remains firmly committed to promoting healthy marriages, strengthening families, fostering reconciliation where possible, and preserving the sanctity of the marital covenant.

The choice of this topic arose from the growing reality that many individuals and families have become victims of marital breakdown through circumstances such as abuse, abandonment, infidelity, addiction, domestic violence, irreconcilable conflict, or other complex challenges. These individuals often struggle with emotional trauma, grief, rejection, financial hardship, social stigma, parenting difficulties, and spiritual distress.

Consequently, the seminar sought to provide evidence-based counselling strategies, biblical wisdom, psychological support, and practical guidance to help affected individuals heal from emotional wounds, rediscover purpose, rebuild healthy relationships, and move forward with hope and dignity. It also aimed to equip pastors, counsellors, and helping professionals with the knowledge and skills required to offer compassionate, ethical, and competent care to those navigating the painful realities of marital dissolution.

In essence, the programme was a ministry of restoration rather than an endorsement of divorce. It reflected our unwavering commitment to addressing difficult life experiences with compassion, professionalism, and sound pastoral care while continuing to uphold the enduring value and sacredness of marriage.
